InoSumi (井ノ隅 InoSumi) is the term used to refer to the romantic relationship between Inojin Yamanaka and Sumire Kakei.

• During their days in the Academy, Inojin liked to tease Sumire, enjoying her flustered reactions.
• Inojin commented that Sumire is popular among guys, which got her flustered.
• Sumire thinks Inojin's Super Beast Imitating Drawing is amazing.
• At Sumire's go-away party, Inojin's gift for Sumire is a bouquet of flowers from his clan's flower shop. In addition, he signed Sumire's farewell card and drew a little picture of her.

• Sumire is represented by the color purple, just like Inojin and his parents.
• Similarly to InoHima, Inojin comes from the clan of florists while Sumire is named after a flower (violet).

Among the Fans

InoSumi is not as popular as other New Generation's pairings, but it has its group of fans. It was especially popular in the early days of the anime, as characters had more interactions back then. It's shipped due to Inojin teasing Sumire and her blushing in respond to it. It caused even non-shippers to think that Sumire had a crush on Inojin. Many think that Sumire will get over her interest in Boruto and marry Inojin, just like Ino was at first interested in Sasuke before falling in love with Sai. The pairing has garnered the support from fans of BoruSara and MitsuCho. Its rival pairings are BoruSumi, InoHima, MitsuSumi, and InoSara.
